Rusty the Racist still keepin’ it classy

There really aren’t any limits for him. NASCAR, he says, boo-ed the First Lady because she is ‘uppity’. Uppity.

Limbaugh also said “we don’t like being told what to eat; we don’t like being told how much to exercise; we don’t like being told what we’ve got to drive; we don’t like wasting money; we don’t like our economy being bankrupted. We don’t like 14% unemployment. The question is, what the hell is there to cheer for when Miss Obama and Ms. Biden show up?”

“I’ll tell you something else,” he said. “We don’t like paying millions of dollars for Mrs. Obama’s vacations. The NASCAR crowd doesn’t quite understand why when the husband and the wife are going to the same place, the first lady has to take her own Boeing 757 with family and kids and hangers-on four hours earlier than her husband, who will be on his 747. NASCAR people understand that’s a little bit of a waste. They understand it’s a little bit of uppity-ism.”

Rush doesn’t much like women either. Jill Biden is properly addressed as Dr. Biden, but I guess that’s uppity too – although probably not as uppity as it would be were Dr. Biden a black woman of course.

Mr-Limbaugh-of-Palm-Beach is an old pro at this stuff – here are some of his top hits (and they do keep on coming):

  • “Have you ever noticed how all composite pictures of wanted criminals resemble Jesse Jackson?”
  • “Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.”
  • “The NAACP should have riot rehearsal. They should get a liquor store and practice robberies.”
  • “They’re 12 percent of the population. Who the hell cares?”
  • [To an African American female caller]: “Take that bone out of your nose and call me back.”
  • ”I think the media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well.  They’re interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well.  I think there’s a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn’t deserve.”
  • “We need segregated buses… This is Obama’s America.”
  • “Obama’s entire economic program is reparations.”

Even if he dropped dead tomorrow (although I’d prefer – as the old saying goes – ‘he be found with a dead girl or a live boy’), his adoring imitators are out there and will for a very very long time.

As a long suffering Philadelphia Eagles fan, it is pretty hard to disagree with what Rush said about McNabb.

  6. Ms. Holland ,

I think McNabb had plenty of heart, but it takes more than that. I think they stayed with McNabb longer than they should have. They should have traded him 5 years before they did, but Andy Reid is very loyal to his players. And as I recall Limbaugh’s remarks were generally directed at the press, maybe you could back up your affirmative action comment as it applies to Eagles management.

And I agree with Rush about McNabb getting the credit, for the success the Eagles had. I followed the team that went to the Super Bowl.

  7. Ms. Holland,

I know Limbaugh said that the Media promoted Donovan McNabb because he was a Black Quarterback. He accused the media of reverse racism. That Donovan McNabb was not as good as the media said. You said that Mr. Limbaugh said that the Eagles played Mr. McNabb for Affirmative Action purposes. I just want you to back that up to prove that Rush is a vulgar racist. That is well within the subject .

  8. Really. Well, I want uppity right-wingers to stop telling me what I can do with my f***ing womb. Sorry, I’m in the middle of a bout of PMS right now, and this stuff is getting on my nerves even more than usual.

Seriously, though, if the First Lady is uppity for telling us what to eat, how to live, etc. then I certainly hope that if Michele Bachmann gets in the White House she will keep quiet about her religion and her morality and how she would like for all of us to follow those rules. I won’t hold my breath.

    Ms. Holland,

Since you changed what I said, and are resorting to the other quotes from your original post , I am assuming that you concede you cannot prove Limbaugh ever claimed the Philadelphia Eagles only played Donovan McNabb because of Affirmative Action .

    Have a nice Thanksgiving . 🙂

    • Alan, let me join with eurobrat and remind you lthat YOU do not have a womb – we have the wombs. And we’d be pleased if you and your fellow males stayed out of them.

By the way, the only things I can “prove” about ole’ Rusty are:
      -born a son of privledge
      -College drop out
-LIved on unemployment more than once
-Lost a dozen jobs before he found his, ahem, ‘voice’.
      -Married four times.
-Was, briefly, addicated to illegal drugs and obtained them illegally. In the ensuing legal actions against him, his defense was supported by the ACLU.

Now I wouldn’t care at all about any of these things – they’re really not my business – if it weren’t for the fact that he rails day in and day out against the human and moral failings of others. If he were judged by his own words, he’d be found to be morally corrupt, weak, and a drain on society.

Because when we’re talking about early-term pregnancy, it’s not a live person yet. Substantial difference. If I had a blob of cells and tissue sitting in my f***ing home, I certainly hope the uppity right-winger would let me clean it up. If not, they are truly too uppity for their own good.

I find that an odd request, but if it makes you happy, I will stay out.

    eurobrat ,

” Because when we’re talking about early-term pregnancy, it’s not a live person yet. ”

I’m curious as to exactly when ” it ” ceases to be an ” it ‘, and becomes a people .

” If I had a blob of cells and tissue sitting in my f***ing home, I certainly hope the uppity right-winger would let me clean it up. ”

You mean like when the family dog eats the cushion off of Dad’s favorite chair and wretches up a blob of cells and foam ? Or the cat doesn’t make it to the litter box and leaves a blob of cells ? I guess a pregnancy is the same thing .

    • Well, isn’t it similar, at least at first? I would be curious to know where that line between it being an “it” and a “people” is too — all I know, though, is that it’s not a “people” from the start. And you know that very well, too — we do not get a live baby implanted into our womb from the first moment.

  11. eurobrat,

You just punted . Abortions are performed in many different stages of pregnancy . Being against abortion, except in cases of rape, I do not have to choose in what stage a people is created . You being in favor of destroying a life in the womb have to make that moral judgement .

I cannot conceive of why anyone would want to kill the being that is their closest relative, genetically and physically . Want to tell me ?

    Like

    • I know you are addressing eurobrat, but let me toss in that for myself, a blastocyst is as much my ‘closest relative’ as is a fingernail. I’m sure you’ll find that offensive Alan and I don’t mean to offend, but we just see things very differently.

By the way, please explain to me why abortion in the case of rape is okay by those who beleive abortion is murder. It’s still ‘murder’ isn’t it?

      Like

    • I know abortion is allowed at all stages of pregnancy. I happen to be in favor of abortion in the early stages of pregnancy (preferably the first trimester). Yes, that is a moral judgment, and yeah, moral judgments are difficult. Want to tell me why having a different opinion is “punting”?

Am I supposed to use genetic/physical closeness as a reason for wanting or not wanting to kill someone? I don’t wish to kill a full-grown person regardless of whether or not they are related to me. I don’t care if the physical matter inside of me at the beginning of a pregnancy is genetically related to me or not, I don’t believe it’s a person.

” By the way, please explain to me why abortion in the case of rape is okay by those who beleive abortion is murder. It’s still ‘murder’ isn’t it? ”

That is very tough, but I will not punt the question . Killing a human being at any stage for any reason is serious business. Rape is the one exception I will accept for killing an innocent person . Forced pregnancy is the forced carrying of another to term.. Granted, either way the baby is innocent . But rape or molestation is the one case where the mother truly had no choice in the conception.

All life is desperate to live or none of us would be here . I believe that if you engage in behavior that creates a life, you cannot just refuse responsibility to allow that life to continue.

  13. [But rape or molestation is the one case where the mother truly had no choice in the conception.]

That’s very revealing Alan – that means if the mother had a choice, she is to be punished by being forced to carry to term. In other words, she asked for it. But if the sex wasn’t consensual, as in rape, she’s allowed to get rid of it. To me, that says it’s not about either the baby or about killing. It’s about the woman.

  14. Ms. Holland,

Of course it is revealing. Honesty always is. We are all punished by taking responsibility for our actions. I also see that my concession on rape truly illustrates the old maxim , no good deed goes unpunished . Your answer reveals your own bias . Pretty much anything I said, you were going to jump down my throat, right ? But of course you are wrong. It is about whether the life is allowed to continue or not .

Thank God, our mothers decided to allow us to live. Whether those of us who can, return the favor is what it is about .

  15. Eurobrat,

” Want to tell me why having a different opinion is “punting”?”

Because I asked you a very specific question and you ducked it .

” I don’t wish to kill a full-grown person regardless of whether or not they are related to me. ”

The point being that as parents we are willing to do more for our offspring than strangers . We would more willingly give up our lives for our children than total strangers . And obviously if that full grown person were inside of you , you would kill them.

” I don’t care if the physical matter inside of me at the beginning of a pregnancy is genetically related to me or not, I don’t believe it’s a person.”

Would you then deny another woman a late term abortion ?

    • Alan – By my own lights, I think you have somewhat convoluted moral rules. Morals are not absolute and yes, most things are in fact relative. You seem to believe that those who do not share your own sense of ethics and human behvior are somehow morally lacking. You are wrong.

You also seem to think that commenters here are somehow “required” to specifically address every question you pose. They are not.

      Like

    • Nope, I didn’t duck the question. I told you that I agree with abortion in the first trimester, because I believe the fetus is not a person yet at that time. You keep wanting to shift this argument to there being a full-grown person there from the beginning until the end of the pregnancy, which I don’t believe is the case. I think you’re demanding that I reply to the argument as you’ve framed it, but you keep forgetting that the way you’ve framed the argument is possibly not correct.

I would prefer it if late term abortions were illegal, except in the case of danger to the mother’s life. That is my personal moral judgment. However, I’m not always sure if I feel comfortable with forcing that personal moral judgment on everybody else, as far as putting it into law. I’m sure you will perceive that uncertainty as weakness on my part.

I’m pretty sure you two shifted the discussion onto abortion, I came in on the McNabb issue. I am the only one here who is totally honest . What are you doing by criticising pro lifers, but making a moral judgement against them ?

” I think you’re demanding that I reply to the argument as you’ve framed it, but you keep forgetting that the way you’ve framed the argument is possibly not correct.”

The abortion issue is more than first trimester abortions . I merely asked you to clarify where you stand on all aspects of the issue . Getting that from you is like pulling teeth .

YOU TO EUROBRAT: [I merely asked you to clarify where you stand on all aspects of the issue . Getting that from you is like pulling teeth .]

Wow. Eurobrat could not have been more candid. She thoroughly described her moral beleifs and ambiguities. You call that resistance?

  18. All I can do here is second Moe’s comment. I feel like I’ve been practically spelling my beliefs out on a billboard. Beliefs which, by the way, some of my pro-choice friends strongly disagree with as well. The only thing I can think of is that you don’t like where my views fall and are trying to ignore them.

As far as shifting the discussion onto abortion: I made the comment about my womb not in response to you, but in response to Rush’s attack on the First Lady. He was saying that she was trying to tell us how to live our lives, since she is trying to encourage low-fat diets for kids and all that. I was merely making the point that I’m sure if a conservative Christian ever gets into the White House, Rush will be just as fierce in defending my right to live my life as I wish…NOT.

” You forget again Alan, there was no McNabb “issue”. The post was about Limbaugh’s racism. ”

You used McNabb to illustrate Limbaugh’s racism. I chose to attack you on that point . Call it what you want, an issue, a point, something else, that was in your original post .

” Wow. Eurobrat could not have been more candid. She thoroughly described her moral beleifs and ambiguities. You call that resistance? ”

Again, I’ve reread the posts and I do not see it your way . She took “uppity ” from your original post and opened up abortion .

” Really. Well, I want uppity right-wingers to stop telling me what I can do with my f***ing womb. ”

She then clarified her position on abortion. ” Because when we’re talking about early-term pregnancy, it’s not a live person yet. Substantial difference.”

Since you both are using abortion to bash me and everyone who is pro life, why is it wrong to ask for her take on later term abortions . Why is it wrong to ask just when she considers a blob of cells to be a person .

” I would prefer it if late term abortions were illegal, except in the case of danger to the mother’s life. That is my personal moral judgment. ”

That was what I was after. Make the call , one way or the other . She finally fully answered me .

Your question to me about aborting a rape pregnancy was tough but, I answered it. I have reservations either way. I just expect you and Eurobrat to give me full answers in return . No punting .
