Oh Michele we will miss you . . .

Before she leaves us for good, Rep. Michele Bachman (R-Outerspace) is doing her best for late night comics everywhere. Here’s she’s commenting on recent US foreign policy in the Middle East. Or something. And it means that End Times are near.

SPOILER ALERT! Best line ever ever ever:  “Yes it gives us fear in some respects because we want the retirement that our parents enjoyed.”

“This happened and as of today the United States is willingly, knowingly, intentionally sending arms to terrorists, now what this says to me, I’m a believer in Jesus Christ, as I look at the End Times scripture, this says to me that the leaf is on the fig tree and we are to understand the signs of the times, which is your ministry, we are to understand where we are in God’s end times history,” Bachmann told Jan Markell, radio host of “Understanding the Times,” on Saturday.

“Rather than seeing this as a negative, we need to rejoice, Maranatha Come Lord Jesus, His day is at hand,” Bachmann added later. “And so when we see up is down and right is called wrong, when this is happening, we were told this; that these days would be as the days of Noah. We are seeing that in our time. Yes it gives us fear in some respects because we want the retirement that our parents enjoyed. Well they will, if they know Jesus Christ.”

  2. From an Judea-Christian eschatological point of view this isn’t far off and, hence, is hardly the crazy speech you seem to think it is.

I’m not fond of it, however, it’s defeatist and fatalistic, which is no way to treat the current situation, especially when we have 80 million Americans under arms.

Oh! And yes, the Obama Regime is willingly, knowingly, intentionally sending arms to terrorists, Muslim ones at that and ones that have repeatedly threatened and attacked America and American holdings. I believe you’ve even commented on that before.

    • jonolan – today’s terrorist is yesterdays ‘freedome fighter’ and the other way around and that’s been the way of our world for centuries. Perhaps the most cynical behavior of organized societies. But it’s there – now and probably forever. As for intentionalitiy, that becomes a fuzzy area, doesn’t it, depends to some extent on what our end game is.

As for Michele – go be escatalogical elsewhere. Glad she’s taking it – and herself – out of Congress.

      • The problem is that today’s terrorists are today’s terrorists and that’s who the Obama Regime is lending material aid and comfort to. True, some of them are currently on our side against another group but that doesn’t change what they are and it certainly didn’t apply to Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood.

Whether this bit of realpolitik is good or bad is currently a subjective judgement. That doesn’t change the facts though or the truth of Bachmann’s statement,
