Propaganda always employs a mixture of truth and exaggeration (except in North Korea where it’s all crap). Bureaucratic excess is always a danger, as are charitable passions – few charities are efficient. Victory gardens anyone? (Watch out for the bugs!) 😦

Good propaganda, i.e., effective propaganda, this ain’t – it’s a parody of a parody! Orwell was amazingly prescient – built on universal truths, wove them into a story about social trajectories . . . our future is always poised to go in any one of multiple directions. Animal Farm is every bit as likely as 1984. But he knew that.
