Is the War on Christmas still on?

https://i0.wp.com/www.rawstory.com/rs/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/fox_ff_santa_121220e-615x345.jpgI’ve not been following FOX News’ annual tradition of pretending (ratings, people, ratings!) that in this – the world’s most Christian nation – Christmas and indeed Christianity itself are under attack by hordes of liberal invaders carrying their vicious “Happy Holidays” flag.

Uh-oh, not so fast Bill. There are still battles to be fought!

Anyone know how it’s going? I hear Generalissimo Bill O’Reilly (the very fellow who, when he launched the counterattack nine years ago to defend yours and my right to say the sacred words “Merry Christmas”, was hawking ‘Holiday Gifts’ at The Factor’s online store) is now declaring victory.

So a made-up War and a made-up Victory – gotta be some coin in that!

  2. Jeez, I’m a Jew and I still say “Happy Christmas”., What’s going on that we can’t acknowledge each religion’s holidays. Some things are too stupid for words.

  3. The War on Christmas, as a battle on the War on Christianity, is quite real, Moe, and you know it. You just side with the Others.

I suppose, as a “Pagan” I should as well, but it’s the Godless leading the war and they’d just as soon come after me and mine as the Christians.

  5. Happy Holidays? What Holidays? Those of us who say Merry Christmas and Happy Chanukah know what Happy Holidays we are wishing.

    • Well, Alan, Arbourist is Canadian and I’m not sure that they’re even allowed to have Christmas or Chanukah there anymore because of those various PC courts deciding such things might violate some Muslim’s or queer’s “civil rights.”

Got to cut the foreigners some slack since they’re not American and probably really can’t understand these things, coming as they do from other cultures.

Hiya Jonolan, thank you for confirming the notion that as soon as someone mentions political correctness in a sentence it is almost always followed by racism and bigotry.

    • Alan – I guess you forgot about New Years’. This is the Holiday season as we call it – 12/25 is the FIRST day of Christmas, Chanukah has usually just finished and New Years’ Day is about to come. How are we not looking at multiple days?

So Happy Holidays to you in this Holiday Season.

  6. Jonolan,

I tried to come up with the most inoffensive holiday that fell in this season and wish everyone a happy holiday. The best I could do is this. The good part is that it is both non religious and Canadian. Two birds, one small rock. Happy Boxing Day. Many happy returns ( literally ).
