“A leader. . .is like a shepherd. He stays behind the flock, letting the most nimble Nelson Mandela6a00d83451f25369e200e54f0c830c8833-800winelson_mandela-               go out ahead, whereupon the others follow, not realizing that all along they are being directed from behind.”

“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”

  1. “Nelson Mandela was a revolutionary and militant. He was labeled a terrorist by Reagan, Thatcher, Clinton, and current world leaders like the UK’s David Cameron. He was prepared to die at all times, tactically used both arms and non-violence depending on what the situation called for.

  3. ojmo, has the right of history in this case. Mandela was a terrorist, an insurrectionist, and was directly allied with various groups which were even worse than he was. He was also, later, pretty close to exactly the living saint – deliberate irony – that he was portrayed as being.
