Coulter isn’t stupid; maybe she was just drunk?

Too many cocktails perhaps – how else to explain these clips. I always saw the woman as an opportunist (a smart one, she identified an emerging market early on and fed it with titles like Slander(!), Treason(!)*, Godless(!), Demonic(!) and Mugged (by guess who!) among other illustrious works.

Judge for yourself. (And what ever happened to her? I’ve not seen her around.)

* For anyone who’s forgotten, this one was the defense of Sen. Joseph McCarthy.

  1. I think if I could hate a person, it would be her.

    • And I’d say she’s earned it rebecca. There are a few people – her, Palin, Limbaugh – that I truly despise and enthusiastically call nasty names.

      • So now you how Americans feel about- and act towards Liberals.

        • Who are the ‘Americans’ here jonolan – Limbaugh, Palin and Coulter? That trio is not remotely about America; they run cons and then run to the bank. So do real Americans cheer her on when she tells the Canadian interviewer that he is wrong and that Canada joined us in Vietnam? Do real Americans beleive that we bombed Ehgykpt? Do real Americans beleive that Jews need to be perfected and then they can be real Americans? Dear Elvis, are those the standards?

And what do those clips have to do with Liberals vs whatever? They were all about her and her ‘facts’ and opinions. Not remotely about any ideologies.

The radio guy at the end – could have done without him; she was rude,, he was vile. Don’t even know who he is.

        • And yes, I know we’ve totally had this discussion before. But as long as you keep separating the country into liberals and Americans, I’ll be around to remind you that I’m also an American 🙂

            • The facts of the matter are that I came to this country with the belief that this was the place where I could be free to have my own opinion, lead my own kind of life, choose to have my own religious faith, etc. Having been raised in a totalitarian state, this was kind of a big deal to me. Now you’re telling me that I’m required to follow the one correct political ideology–like in the Soviet bloc–in order to be considered a part of the country. What was the point of me coming here for that whole American freedom thing again?

              Like

            • Well, I assume that the point wasn’t to aid and abet those who would turn my county into a “benevolent” totalitarian state as well, which is what the Liberals seem hell-bent on doing. So yes, you have to hold certain political beliefs to BE American in more than law.

The above is, of course, not to say that people on my side of the fence don’t also sometimes want to push things too far their way and enforce an equally authoritarian model.

              • Considering the vast majority of “born again” christians are on your side of the fence I would say you definately have a fair share of totalitarian types. Be honest, as many whacked out lefties you can claim, there are an equal share of whacked out righties. Methinks you should start the fight in your own house before trying to clean out someone else’s.

                • A goodly and Godly percentage of those Christians aren’t that interested in forcing a totalitarian state upon the people – though some of them are and are no closer to being American than Left is.

I’d go after them but this isn’t the time. They’re unruly allies until the Godless, the Muslims, and the Left in general has been dealt with. After that, well…it’ll get more interesting.

              • Good, since that’s not what I’m doing. I should know what a totalitarian state is like, and what I believe in and support ain’t it. So I guess that by your own standards I really am American, which is a relief to find out 😉

    • I can be dense . . . still not getting what you meant then. Are you saying that I represent liberals in my visceral dislike of those three and my public expression of same? You know perfectly well that I – and many many other liberals – often speak ill of some Dmeocrats and speak well of some converstives. None of that proves anything except that there is no Borg collective out there.

      • Yeah, either you’re being dense or I’m being terse to point of being cryptic. 😉 Either way, we just write it off to age and fatigue and move on.

My point was that you hate some people for what they say and believe and feel quite good about insulting them. This is the same we Americans feel about most all of the Liberals’ talking heads and politicians.

As for how you speak of Liberals and Americans – I’ve rarely heard you speak of a Liberal except when they stray from the Left or fail to achieve Leftist goals through weakness or stupidity, and I’ve rarely, if ever, heard you speak well of Americans except when they agree – to their shame – with the Left.

You are, however, both normally civil and cogent in your arguments – a great leap above even those Liberals who are supposedly some of the nation’s leadership.

        • A point jonolan – I wouldn’t care what Limbaugh says or even what he beleives – whatever that is as it changes with the wind – if he didn’t make a career of trashing and judging others in public. Anyone who takes the role of public scold will be held to a higher styandard.

Coulter and Palin? It’s not political, ideological or even partisan. I just find them to be opportunist and harpies. They make my teeth hurt and I don’t like them.

          • So you enjoy bashing Obama, who has made a career of trashing and judging others in public, as well? Please! Be honest. You’ve no problems with people who take the role of public scold when they’re scolding people you don’t agree with.

            • I can’t really think of anyone on the left who dedicates 15 hours a week to ranting against others, expecially anyone on the other side of the political fence (and as I said, that fence does jump aroound a lot as Rusty adjusts his diatribes to meet the boogie man of the day).

And, by the way, unlike a president, he does absolutely nothing else – except get married a lot.

              • He does little or nothing else, unlike previous POTUS’s. The current one is right down there with Limbaugh when it comes to doing little or nothing except ranting and railing against his enemies – not, mind you, that I have a problem with that. The less Obama does, the better off the nation is.
