Romney and Robin were on the trial today, out there, tie-less, with the people.
QUESTION: “If you guys take over Washington, what are you going to do about this damn mess in Afghanistan?”
ANSWER: “I can tell you this, when I become commander in chief if I’m so lucky, I will address the American people about these issues. […] With regards to Afghanistan, I will do everything in my power to transition from our military to their military as soon as possible, bring our men and women home and do so in a way consistent with our mission . . “
Wow. That’s bold. And so different from, ya’ know, what we’ve been doing for the last seven or eight years.
He plans to bring the troops home by way of Tehran…

Ms. Holland ,
And how is your guy doin with Afghanistan ? How’s that surge and retreat goin ? This was the good war, the right war . Seems all screwed up to me . He is our Cammander in Chief . He seems disinterested in how his strategy is playing out . Your guy has been calling the shots for almost 4 years .
I don’t see how Romney could do any worse than Obama in Afghanistan .

Alan, again, Obama is not ‘my guy’. He is the current President of the United States – and assuming you’re a citizen, he is your President.

That would be assuming that we believed that Obama was legally the POTUS and not a usurper based upon his lying about his legal eligibility to hold that office.
Personally, until Obama incontrovertibly proves his eligibility before a court of law, he NOT my president and is, in my mind, a usurper who should be treated as such and with extreme prejudice.

Court of law jonolan?? Are you kidding? If you think that’s called for, the one who should be standing up to defend the case is the State of Hawaii, not Obama. They’re the ones who have responded, which is proper as they are the ones attesting.

That’s part of the issue – Obama has refused to respond and properly prove his eligibility. Why? A court is the only answer that isn’t overly messy.

jonolan – it’s a non issue and has become a national embaressment. Wikipedia has a lengthy record of the twists and turns including links to all the official offices in Hawaii and to State documents.
There is so much there, I hardly know what to paste here – the whole thing is at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama_citizenship_conspiracy_theories#Release_of_the_birth_certificates
Here’s just some of it:
Hawaii Department of Health response
The director of Hawaii’s Department of Health, Chiyome Fukino, issued a statement confirming that the state held Obama’s “original birth certificate on record in accordance with state policies and procedures”.[6][39] Noting “there have been numerous requests for Sen. Barack Hussein Obama’s official birth certificate”, Fukino explained that the department was prohibited by state law from releasing it to “persons who do not have a tangible interest in the vital record.” She stated: “No state official, including Gov. Linda Lingle, has ever instructed that this vital record be handled in a manner different from any other vital record in the possession of the State of Hawaii.”[6][40][41]
According to the website TVNewser, CNN’s researchers stated in 2009 that the original birth certificate no longer existed, as Hawaii discarded all paper birth records in 2001, and the certification of live birth was the official copy.[42] Contradicting this report, Janice Okubo, public information officer for the Hawaii DOH, said “We don’t destroy vital records.”[43] The Health Department’s director emphasized the assertion:
“I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, director of the Hawaii State Department of Health, have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen. I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008, over eight months ago.[43][44]”
Joshua Wisch, a spokesman for the Hawaii attorney general’s office, stated in 2011 that the original “long form” birth certificate – described by Hawaiian officials as a “record of live birth” kept in the archives of the Hawaii Department of Health is “… a Department of Health record and it can’t be released to anybody”, including President Obama. Wisch added that state law does not authorize photocopying such records.[34]

One one point we agree; it’s an embarrassment. It’s embarrassing that Obama refuses to provide access to a simple document, despite repeated demands that he do so in order to prove his eligibility for his job.
I used to side with him, to some extent, on this but his repeated refusal to allow any court to validate his birth leave me with no alternative other than to decide those who deride as “birthers” have some part of the right of it and that Obama is a usurper and, hence, no American’s president.
Not that I expect ANYTHING to be done about it now as it would make so many military actions open to war crimes allegations…

Simply put, Romney made the only proper American response to such a vile question. You do not, if you’re in the public eye, question, critique, or revile the C-in-C’s conduct of a war. To do so is treasonous.
Hellfire! As much as I loath Obama, even I do NOT post anything derogatory about the wars and how he’s prosecuting them.
Americans learned that lesson after the traitor, “Hanoi” Jane Fonda, lent material aid and comfort to Ho Chi Min and his forces.

Not especially. I just hate people who undermine our troops by attacking how a war is being prosecuted. It’s lending material aid and comfort to the enemy.
