Ah, but did Hitler diddle little boys?

From a recent homily by Bishop Daniel Jenky of Peoria (unfortunate name that):

[some governments] “tried to force Christians to huddle and hide only within the confines of their churches . . . Hitler and Stalin, at their better moments, would just barely tolerate some churches remaining open, but would not tolerate any competition with the state in education, social services and health care . . . In clear violation of our First Amendment rights, Barack Obama – with his radical, pro-abortion and extreme secularist agenda – now seems intent on following a similar path.”

So . . . comprehensive health care / ethic cleansing and genocide . . . not very different actually.

    • Go to NCR and read up on that story – the fight has been going on for three years. Check John Allen on the subject. Damn commie nuns. I think they’e also Kenyan Muslims.. ‘

  2. And remind me again why we don’t tax churches? Pulpits have become soap boxes and need to be treated as such.

    • Man oh man,, does that one need to be revisited. At least put some benchmarks in place where maybe the valuable social services divisions run by religions could retain the status but ‘pulpits’ couldn’t. Past time.

  3. I thought to post on this one, too. But what I wanted to say is that I thought that if the good Bishop thought that Obama = Hitler, wouldn’t that be OK with the Catholic Church? They were certainly apologists for the real Hitler when he was killing all the jews, now weren’t they.

Gee, wonder why I’m not a Catholic any more.
