FOX News is having fun again, alerting us to the fact that Obama is just never satisfied. It’s always something with him..
President Obama has declared Aug. 26 – which marks the 91st anniversary of the constitutional amendment giving women the right to vote – to be “Women’s Equality Day.”
In a proclamation published by the White House Thursday, Obama said, “I call upon the people of the United States to celebrate the achievements of women and recommit ourselves to the goal of gender equality in this country,” according to Reuters.
(Congress decided that August 26th is Women’s Equality Day. In 1971.)

August 26, 1920 was a great and momentous day, not just for women, but for lovers of equality everywhere. I find it appropriate that our president feels likewise.
Color me shocked that a bunch of 60 something, old white men feel otherwise.

Sam, my mother was 11 years old when the amendment giving women hte vote was passed. Neither she nor her mother ever missed a voting day from then on (of course, Mom had to wait a few years!).
Friends of mine from the 1960’s are flocking to NYC to get married. It’s quite wonderful and quite remarkable.

Wow, Moe. That is great. What was that saying that women of yesterday would say? “Men gave us the right to vote, and if women don’t use it, men will take it away”.
Anyway, so glad all is well.
I will stop back soon.

Ah, good old Fox, twisting the facts to make the President look bad by making it look like he supports equality for women…. Sometimes I feel like I live in an upside down world.

Because with their viewershp, supporting equality for women is indeed a bad thing!! And commie. And gay. And elite.
I see Rick Perry being taken seriously and want to just give up. Have these people really gotten the upper hand in American life? I

I hope not, Moe. But I’m feeling more and more anxious about it.

Me too. Never felt this way before, not even during Vietnam.

That is not a happy thing to hear from a long-time American resident.

Doesn’t feel happy I assure you. That ‘debt ceiling’ circus just about did me in. There was not an ounce of seriousness in any of it. Pure theatre.

All I can say is, my family and I became US citizens a little over a year ago–great timing, eh.
