They hit the ‘publish’ key and then have a good laugh

FOX News is having fun again, alerting us to the fact that Obama is just  never satisfied. It’s always something with him..

President  Obama has declared Aug. 26 – which marks the 91st anniversary of the  constitutional amendment giving women the right to vote – to be “Women’s  Equality Day.”

In a proclamation published by the White  House Thursday, Obama said, “I call upon the people of the United States to  celebrate the achievements of women and recommit ourselves to the goal of gender  equality in this country,” according to Reuters.

(Congress decided that August 26th is Women’s Equality Day. In 1971.)

  1. August 26, 1920 was a great and momentous day, not just for women, but for lovers of equality everywhere. I find it appropriate that our president feels likewise.

Color me shocked that a bunch of 60 something, old white men feel otherwise.

    • Sam, my mother was 11 years old when the amendment giving women hte vote was passed. Neither she nor her mother ever missed a voting day from then on (of course, Mom had to wait a few years!).

Friends of mine from the 1960’s are flocking to NYC to get married. It’s quite wonderful and quite remarkable.

  3. Ah, good old Fox, twisting the facts to make the President look bad by making it look like he supports equality for women…. Sometimes I feel like I live in an upside down world.
