“Other than telling us how to live, think, marry, pray, vote, invest, educate our children and, now, die, Republicans have done a fine job of getting government out of our personal lives.”

I’m not so sure about this.
Alot of the Tea Party bloggers and their affiliates in the USA seem to be angry in general, and are just as PO’d with Wall Street as they are with Capitol Hill. A large number of them actually have called for more regulation of the banks & large corporations, but those are about the only things that they want the government to be more intrusive about.

D.I.D., that may be so, but the idea of getting the little guy to stand up for the ones who are actually ‘screwing’ him certainly pre-dates the tea party. I agree that there is some call for regulation, but the noise coming from that movement isn’t about regulation, and elvis knows, the organizations supporting it – like Americans for Prosperity – are anti regulation all the way.
