Oh goodie!!!

Ahhh, an old-fashioned knock-down drag-out – stir in a little Sarah Palin and the GOP looks to be imploding.

Apparently little Billy Kristol said:

When Glenn Beck rants about the caliphate taking over the Middle East from Morocco to the Philippines, and lists (invents?) the connections between caliphate-promoters and the American left, he brings to mind no one so much as Robert Welch and the John Birch Society. He’s marginalizing himself, just as his predecessors did back in the early 1960s. [National Review chimed in and said ‘dude.’]

And then Glenn Beck said:

I don’t even know if you understand what conservatives are anymore, Billy. People like Bill Kristol, I don’t think they stand for anything any more. All they stand for is power. They’ll do anything to keep their little fiefdom together . . .

And then Beck accused Kristol of failing to see that:

“we are fighting the forces of evil on this planet. . . . I think he’s still trying to get Bob Dole elected. Have you done a minute of research Bill?”

Here. More here.

  1. Ms. Holland,

” Ahhh, an old-fashioned knock-down drag-out – stir in a little Sarah Palin and the GOP looks to be imploding. ”

You mean the way they did last November ? You remember November, right ?

    • That was then; this is now. Republicans are worried about Beck and Palin. AND the Tea Party – it dilutes the brand and makes it harder to win elecitons.

All things being said, though, November was about the economy. 2012 will be about the economy. For Americans, when the economy is bad, that’s the only real issue. The rest is window dressing.

  2. Ms. Holland,

So Beck, Palin, and the Tea Partyers had nothing to do with GOP gains in the US House ? Those old moderate Republicans who lost the House in 07 got it back all by themselves. De Nile isn’t just a river in Egypt .

And the Suez isn’t the only canal there either. Bet you didn’t know that is where the Panama canal is. I know this because my good friend at MSNBC, Chris Mathews said so. Right after he got done telling everyone how stupid Congresswoman Michelle Bachman is .

    • Sure they were a force in the ’10 elections. But it was an off year, about 30% of the electorate shows up and they are usually the most partisan. In a prez election year, about 60% of voters show up and is mostly independents. They dont like the fringes, so the more fringe candidates, the better for the other party.

“Denial is not just a river in Egypt” is from a play by Tennessee Williams.

  3. Given Bill Kristol’s track record (I have been reading his drivel for over a decade and have yet to see him be right about anything), Mr. Scott may be correct. Being a vapid moron hasn’t stymied Sarah Palin’s career, being certifiably insane hasn’t made Michele Bachmann any less popular, and youtube videos of Glenn Beck’s fraudulent crybaby routine didn’t lose him any viewers.

You may catch yourself saying, “Only a delusional idiot could be fooled by so-and-so.” The response would be, “So? We only need 50% of the vote.”

  4. He, he, he…..They are already throwing the Tea Party under the bus….

A little taste of power in the MId-Terms and look at them!

  5. desertscope,

I must say that I am shocked, shocked I say by you calling Governor Palin a vapid moron, and calling Congresswoman Bachman insane . You do realize that such language might cause a weak minded person to commit violence . After the Arizona shootings I thought liberals were going to adapt a more civil tone . Never mind .

  6. Calling a moron a moron and a nut a nut is incitement to violence? You have a very unique perspective, Mr. Scott.
