Another juicy tidbit

The oddness of Glenn Beck is beginning to cause unease  among those Republicans who think winning the occasional election is a good idea. It’s not just Bill Kristol. There’s also this from The Washington Monthly post linked below:

Joe Klein noted over the weekend that he’s “heard, from more than a couple of conservative sources, that prominent Republicans have approached Rupert Murdoch and Roger Ailes about the potential embarrassment that the paranoid-messianic rodeo clown may bring upon their brand. The speculation is that Beck is on thin ice.”

  1. Nonsense. Beck gets them votes, and that’s all that matters to them.

Skating on thin ice ? You mean like your buddy Keith O. ?

    • You really see equivalency there don’t you Alan. Olbermann was a fierce, fiery partisan with such a narrow vision that he couldn’t see past his own ‘tribe’.

Beck is a demogogue and a clown. Olbermann is all about liberalism. Beck is all about Beck and teh crazy. Bat. Shit. Crazy.

So, to answer your question: No. Not like my ‘buddy Keith O.”. Not at all.

You are right. There is no equivalency between the two . Don’t know if the new Comcast corporate masters did in KO or not.

Speaking of new corporate masters, and to go off topic. What is your take on Huffington selling out to AOL ?

    • Someone called it ‘dying man boards sinking ship’. I think aol has been going down, becoming second rate in every respect. And I think Huff Post has outlived its usefulness and become a gossip sheet. I really don’t care.

(Comcast did in KO no matter what they say.)

Oh, I applaud Ms. Huffington on her capitalist triumph. Start a company, grow it, and then sell it for mega bucks to an evil American Corporation .

I just wondered what all the anti corporate marxists who hang out there and do the grunt work for the left, thought of all the money Ms. Huffington got. I just wondered if there was any class envy ?

I mean you got your rich liberals like her . Then you got the poor liberals .

    • I’m thinking most of the people who write at Huff are rich and/or public people – maybe not as rich as Huff, although Bill Gates writes there sometimes and I’ve seen Donald Trump too.

Liberals aren’t poor; they care about the poor and aren’t fond of exploiting them.

    • In fairness, I’ll freely admit that the Huff Post pages are full of liberals railing against plutocrats and thier amoral wealth.

Columnist at the LA Times, not an admirer of AOL or Huff Post, said of the Huff Post:

“The Huffington Post is a brilliantly packaged product with a particular flair for addressing the cultural and entertainment tastes of its overwhelmingly liberal audience. To grasp its business model, though, you need to picture a galley rowed by slaves and commanded by pirates. ” (noting that it’s a combo of unpaid opinion and news aggregation)

  8. Ms. Holland,

Thank you for your honesty. Corporations and rich people are not inherently evil or good . A poor SOB who becomes rich is a rich SOB . A nice poor guy would probably be a nice rich guy .

As Obama has found out, demonizing the rich does not help the poor . I watched Jim Cramer the other night describing the new Obama speaking to the Chamber of Commerce . The question being whether this really is a new Obama. According to Cramer it is . The way Cramer carried on, I thought he was talking about a right wing Republican. This is all good for my 401k and good for jobs and also good for getting Obama reelected .

I personally think that once he is reelected the old Marxist Obama will reemerge. For the time being, anyone who has money to invest and is not in the stock market is an idiot . The Chinese and Europeans are starting to come in and buy up American companies because they are cheap. The only caveat as always, is the price of oil . If gasoline goes over $4 per gallon again, we are screwed .

    • Gas hit 3.15 here today – figure 4.0 by the summer cuz it ALWAYS goes up in the summer in time for the ‘driving season’.

That ‘Marxist’ sobriquet you apply to Obama – how did he earn that one, the health care bill?

There’s not a chance in hell that’s going to happen. He’s thrown his base under the bus and conservatives will vote for a Republican conservative over a conservadem almost every time. The only way Obama can win is if he runs against Sarah Palin, and even then, it will be close.

Actually gasoline could drop from here. Could, I said . In spite of Egypt’s gyrations WTC per barrel has backed off to $ 86.87. When you add in how cold this winter has been and the resulting heating oil demands, that is amazing . Guess we have to thank the Arbourist and the rest of the Canadians for that Alberta tar sands oil or oil would be much higher .

” That ‘Marxist’ sobriquet you apply to Obama – how did he earn that one, the health care bill? ”

Yes and no . Health care is socialistic, but I was thinking of his Wall St. bashing and his spread the wealth talk to Joe the plumber .

    • Yeah, poor Wall Street . . . such thin skins. Those Masters of the Universe crashed the world economy but they have paid no price. No price at all. Who’s in jail? Who’s been indicted? All they’re getting from Obama is sticks and stones – it’s an exquisite ballet. He gets to call them names and htey get off scot free. Win win.

Old Joe the Plumber – forgot all about him. Such an important ifgure in American history and such a contributor to our nation. Good times.

You are wrong,,,,,,as usual. I hate to praise Obama, but he did a few smart things lately . When the left wingers lost in Congress he threw the whole left under the bus and cozied up to evil big business . Guess what, stock market keeps rising, despite everything that should collapse it . The job market, will keep improving enough to give Obama a good chance to repeat.

But not to worry. Obama needs his left wing base for one thing. The same reason you guys will never abandon him, no matter how you rant and rave. You guys need each other to save Obama-Care from my evil Republicans . When the GOP gets close to winning on that, I guarantee all will be forgiven and you and Barak will make up .

” Barack. We should all know how to spell the President’s name, don’t you think? ”

You are right. The mistake was not intentional . My apologies. I used to actually win spelling bees in grammar school, but now if it wasn’t for spell checkers I’d misspell everything . See there is the problem. Your spell checker does not give me the correct spelling of Barak , Barack, Husein, Hussein, Obbama, or Obama . I know, I know correct spelling of names is my problem . I will try to do better .

It’s funny though, I never misspell George or Ronald . Not even Bill. But I can never remember if Jimmy is spelled with one m or two . Well I can spell the important ones right anyway .
