His name was Sidney Buchman. In 1951 he appeared before HUAC and admitted to being a member of the Communist Party, but refused to name anyone else. In 1952, he was subpoenaed again, but refused to honor the subpoena — much like Todd Palin did when called to testify about Troopergate.
Unlike Todd Palin, Buchman was found in contempt of Congress by a vote of 314-0. He was fined $150 and sentenced to a year in Federal penitentiary (suspended). A two-time Academy Award winner, it would be a decade before his name appeared on another American movie.

When Governor Palin said that it was not yet time to party like it’s 1773, the left wing morons at the Daily Kos had an orgasm at how stupid she was. Until someone actually checked the facts and figured out that the Boston Tea party really was in 1773.
Now for the facts on “The Bush Doctrine”. According to Karl Rove there was no “Bush Doctrine” or there were three at the time Charlie Gibson asked Governor Palin that question. So when the Governor asked for context on the question, she was perfectly right. Or do you have another take on the incident?
How about Christine O’Donnell. At Delaware’s Widener School of Law the students almost wet themselves laughing when O’Donnell asked where the phrase ” Separation of Church and State ” appears in the Constitution. It does not. The First Amendment says ” Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion. ” You may argue about whether they mean the same thing, but Christine O’Donnell had her facts right.
Tell me again how clueless Governor Palin is. I need a couple of laughs after the midterm elections.

I can make a laundry list of how an inexperienced College professor who you put in to office, did not know the first thing about the workings of the World or his Country’s economy. Just a few little recent examples. The man just got back from his Asian tour. Now I’ll throw him a bone and say he did well in India. They are our natural ally against Islamic terrorism and China. Bush had courted India and until this trip Obama neglected them. Well better late than never.
Now the trade pact with S.Korea. President Bush had negotiated a trade deal that would have benefited both Countries. He could not get it ratified because of the Bolsheviks taking over Congress in 08. So Obama goes over and because of the UAW influence on this administration he tries to screw over the Koreans on the car deal. Now most President’s do not go over and publicly try to do such a deal because if it falls apart they look weak. You nail down the deal in private ahead of time. Well your guy President Obama knew better because he is so much smarter about the World than Governor Sarah Palin. Well the S. Koreans balked and guess how smart and strong your hero looks right now?
Then shall we speak about how the other countries rejected his World plan that they follow the US and just print money and spend their way to prosperity. Tell me again how stupid Sarah Palin in next to Barak Obama.
Tell me how Sarah Palin could possibly split this Country with a partisanship more vicious than Obama did. When he, Pelosi, and Reid had supreme power they basically told Republicans, ‘ We won, go screw yourselves.’ By the way how did that total arrogance work out for them ?

Context, context,context. You neglect to mention that Gov. Palin was trying to explain the VP job to a third grader. The VP technically presides over the Senate. In trying to make the job description understandable to an elementary student Palin over explained it. Simple when you actually research the facts.

The lawsuits may have been based on things that happened previously, but my recollection is that the filings came after Palin dared to make herself a target by opposing your guy. And the last I heard, none of these charges and lawsuits went anywhere. Which kinda makes them what I said they were, nothing more than Democrats burying the Governor in bogus lawsuits to bankrupt her. Tell me, who has ethics, now?

RE Palin: The first and biggest lawsuit, called “Troopergate” began in July 2008. In August ’08 the Alaska legislature filed a lawsuit against the governor related to issues in Troopergate; the report from that came out in 10 ’08 and absolved her of criminal wrongdoing but accused her of serious ethics violations. After that the State Personnel Board reviewed the previous report, again absolving Palin.
Those are the lawsuits and that’s why she ran up legal bills. What does it have to do with Obama?
