What the Bush tax cuts were really about

For my commenter-friend Alan who argues that all Bush (GW) wanted to do wtih Social Security was allow 4-5% of withholding to go to private accounts. Right, and that was for starters. (from 2001)

  1. Ms. Holland,

I hope you have more than a doctored picture of President Bush burning a SS card.

  2. Ms. Holland,

I’m surprised that picture is not on a Democrat election poster.

I am still waiting for you to disprove my contention that Democrats totally lied about what President Bush was proposing to do to save Social Security. Of course from my viewpoint, it does not say much about the Senior Citizenry, that they so readily believe the garbage the Democratic Party always shovels when it speaks on this topic.

As always, prove me wrong .

Really? Not going to happen Alan. No President’s proposals (whatever they were – I was taking your word on the 4-5% thing) stand alone. They run as party members, parties have platforms, parties have policy positions over the years and until very very recently the GOP position was to privatize SS – until Frank Lutz told htem to stop using htat word cuz it didn’t poll well.
