Since installing the pool, I’ve swum lengths every single morning. I do it the very minute I’m on my feet, knowing how easy it would be to blow it off if I did something else first.

I began this regimen on Day 1 with five lengths, after which I could barely breathe. Today I reached 40. I am proud. I am also breathing just fine.

There is hope.

  1. I’m proud of you, Moe. Even better reason for pool than cooling off. Worth every cent.

  2. Ms. Holland,

Only rich people can afford private pools. 🙂

    • It’s all trimmed in gold and has a mahogony diving board and my entire family is convinced I lost my mind when I decided to build it.

      Best thing I ever did.

  3. Ms. Holland,

I bet every thing was made in America . Your own little Stimulus Bill . I just hope they don’t raise your property taxes. 🙂

    • Alan – what was interesting about the pool was finding out how expensive cement has become. It seems China is nearly using up the world supply. They’re doing so much construction it’s like builidng an entire American city every year.

Yeah – it was my own stimulus bill. My property taxes are very low – they’ll only go up if I’m re-assessed and that doens’t happen automatically.

  4. Yay! Congratulations! I’m trying to get into the habit to hop on the exercise bike every morning before breakfast. I haven’t been very successful, but you inspire me. 🙂
