This is my father. He has a social life, is working with a personal trainer, and remembers every conversation he’s had with me over the last few years. I don’t. He will no doubt outlive me.

His incredibly sharp mind continues to amaze. And how someone with 95% hearing and sight loss stays on top of current afairs I still don’t understand. He is a role model for growing old gracefully – as was your mother. They set the bar very high for the rest of us.

Ms. Holland,
You are lucky to have him all of these years. You also have a good shot at a long life if heredity means anything. In my ancestry most of the men died out in their 50s and 60s, with the women making it into their early 80s.

I went to visit my grandparents earlier this year. My grandmother actually still drives as 83. I hope I can do that.

On my Father’s side they all had thick black hair. On my Mom’s side, they tended to be blonder and balder, the men. Of the 6 kids my parents raised the dark and lighter features are split .
Since my hair is pretty light and pretty much gone, there is hope . 🙂
